Mom's 60th Birthday Tea

Speaking of Teas...

In November we celebrated Mom's 60th birthday with an Afternoon Tea. Amanda, Aunt Cathy, and I prepared all the food, decorations, invitations, and party favors. The Fall themed Tea was at Mom's house and she invited her close friends and family. Harney and Sons teas were served...Paris and Chocolate Mint. Apple Cider was also served. Several tea sandwiches, scones, and sweets were served on Mom's china. We started out with an Apple Pumpkin soup that was delicious!

Mom made the party favors...little purses and shoes! We filled the purses with recipes, tea, and a music CD of Mom's favorite songs! Amanda's husband Jason did an awesome job putting the CD together! It was a surprise to Mom and she loved it!

Charlene's 75th Birthday Tea

Mom, Amanda, Aunt Cathy and I gave our cousin an Afternoon Tea for her 75th birthday. It was at Mom's house and all of us helped prepare the food, decorate, make the invitations, and make the party favors. Harney & Sons teas were served...Paris and Florence. Yum! Several tea sandwiches, scones, and sweets were served on Mom's china.

Aunt Cathy gave a wonderful toast that had most of us in tears. Charlene is such a wonderful, caring person. We were so happy to celebrate her birthday with her and her daughters. We sat and talked for hours. Everyone had such a wonderful time!

No More Winter!

This past week we have had SEVERAL snow, ice, and bitter wind storms blow through our area. Enough is enough! We want Spring! Luckily, it is supposed to gradually warm up this weekend. I saw 58 degrees on the news the other night...whoopee!

Jack is still taking his medicine for a few more days. He looks and feels great. He's back to his old, crazy self! He is VERY much into spelling words right now. That's all he does is spell and write words. We just keep feeding him words to spell and he just soaks it right up! He is continuing to do great with potty training...very few accidents. I think he is getting the hang of it...finally!

Natalie is great. She is into blowing "raspberries" all the time. Her bibs are soaking wet by the end of the day! She is starting to roll over onto her belly. Jack gets on the floor and plays with her (and rolls her around!) and she LOVES it. Giggles and laughs whenever Jack is near. It's so cute!

Todd and I...we are hanging in there...trying to keep up with these kids! They definitely keep us busy. By the end of the day we are exhausted, but we love it and wouldn't change a thing!

My Sweet Boy

Jack has had a head cold since January 12th! He just can't get rid of the runny nose and cough. Well, this morning he woke up with matted, swollen eyes! He looks so sad. Needless to say I did not send him to school today. I took him to the doctor and he has a sinus infection, ear infection, and pink eye! He is on Amoxicillin for the sinus and ear infections and eye drops for the pink eye. He doesn't like taking his medicine. I have to fight him to take it. He just feels awful. He is crying most of the time. Today he fell asleep on the couch and I had to wake him up to take him to the doctor. He hasn't taken a nap in about a year or so! We need to get him well...his birthday party is in a few weeks!!

On a good note, he has had dry underpants for 3 days in a row! No accidents! He is working really hard at getting out of those baby diapers. Preschool is helping a lot. Seeing other kids use the restroom and not wearing diapers has worked wonders! Way to go Jack!

Blizzard Today!

This morning around 9am we had a blizzard! Hard to tell in the picture, but it was a "white out" for about 5 minutes and left us with a dusting of snow! As soon as it stopped snowing the SUN came out!! It's very cold and windy today, only about 30 degrees! Jack was playing with his Valentine window clings while watching it snow. He didn't have school today because of President's Day. Natalie was napping, so she missed it!

I love her dimply smile! She has recently discovered her feet, which apparently are pretty funny!

Jack had his first Valentine's Day party at school today. Both Natalie and Jack received many Valentine cards in the mail from family. Here's a Valentine kiss from Jack & Natalie!

Jack is going to Preschool!

On February 5th, Jack went to his first day of Preschool. He was so excited to go to school.

He loves it!

His first week they learned all about Mail/Post Office. They made homemade envelopes in class and talked about their addresses. They made a picture to mail home, sealed it with a kiss, and walked it to the mailbox. He was SO excited the next day to see it arrive in our mailbox!!
